Dan grew up in England and graduated Loughborough University with a Masters Degree in Aeronautical Engineering. He initially spent 3 years as a business consultant in London. He has been at Captain Andy’s since 2017 and has put his technical degree to good use in designing, selling and delivering boats for customers in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, DRC, Malawi, Rwanda, South Sudan and Burundi.  

Dan spent 10 years in the Sea Cadets sailing, canoeing, rowing and power boating gaining multiple advanced water sports qualifications. He was also in a local sailing club where he raced GP14 sailing boats twice a week.
